ESP destroyed this classic guitar by putting an Asian made ESP neck on it.
The body of this guitar is an original "J Frog" model with the shallow forearm cut.

The Skull n Bones was always a "J Frog" from day one.

When I was 18, some friends & I went to see, and meet in person Frank Zappa !!!
One of the people I was with was Bart Nagel, who had custom crafted a guitar. When he was done it was gorgeous. We walked around to the back of the Celebrity theater and knocked on the door.

We were first greeted by a rather large bodyguard, soon stepped out a small framed, good looking Frank Zappa. He opened the case, looked down the neck of the guitar, played it a little, and said "What do you want for it"?

This is that guitar, being held by the man himself. He bought it for $600.00 ! He then said "Let's Take A Walk" And he walked with us around the building and through the front doors of the theater. At 18 that was a real cool thing. :-)

I met Frank again some years later at a breakfast meeting. He had that same huge bodyguard with him.
Frank wanted a Bloody Mary. Couldn't sell alcohol in Arizona before noon back then. (He settled for a virgin one). He was such a polite, and despite what most people think because of his crazy lyrics, very normal guy. An amazing musician.

STUPID me, met the man twice...NEVER ONCE asked him for his autograph! DAMN!!!!

Bart told me he has this picture...autographed! ! Lucky Bart...
